It was a great honour and privilege for me to take part in AC (Yoshimura)’s interview with Mark Shirrefs yesterday!! 🙂

We hope you will enjoy the podcast episode when it comes out. Mark revealed some behind the scenes stories and details that I don’t think any other fans of TGFT have heard before!! 🎉🎉🎉

I think the interview went well and Mark said that he had enjoyed talking to us. However, we did run into a few technical problems during the recording!

Mark’s microphone was a lot quieter than ours, so I hope AC will be able to adjust the volume when he edits the recording. But embarrassingly for me, Mark’s quiet mic meant that there were a few moments when I thought that he had finished talking when he’d answered a question, so then I started talking before realising that Mark was in fact still talking, so I was accidentally talking over him!! 😳
I hope that won’t come across as me rudely interrupting Mark during the finished podcast episode! And there were a few minutes when I lost the internet connection at my end so I missed part of the interview.

After recording the podcast, me and AC talked about wanting the new book to be a success, and we were trying to think of ways we could let as many other fans as possible know about the Indiegogo crowdfunder to increase the chances of A New Tomorrow and The Tomorrow Trilogy actually being released.

Does anyone on this forum have any ideas how we can spread the word about the book?

I did know of a very popular 90s Nostalgia account on Instagram called Knee Deep In The 90s, with lots of followers, that had previously made posts about TGFT and got lots of views and comments. And as soon as Idiot Box Books made their announcement, I messaged the woman who ran the account to tell her the news. The problem is that she hasn’t made any new Instagram posts for a long time, so I assume she is too busy in real life or is currently going through something that means she isn’t updating her account, and so far I haven’t had a reply from her.

But if anyone else knows of any influencers on social media with big followings who might agree to help spread the word about the new book, it would be good to contact them.

Wow, what a great news! Can't wait to listen to it!

I think it might be worthwile to announce it on Facebook TGFT-related pages: In fact, I suggested that to IdiotBoxBooks but I don't know if they have already contacted the admins of these pages.

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for all your help. You’re right, we need to spread the word. The problem we are having with Facebook is that the two main GFT groups haven’t been updated for years and the creator hasn’t responded to my messages (through Facebook). I’ve tried to research who it is that created them, but haven’t been able to find out. I’m posting on every 90s / sci-fi / tv related groups I can find but many creators don’t like promotional posts, so they don’t approve them. But we’ll carry on battling on.

If there’s anyone on this very forum that hasn’t yet backed the book, but wants to, please please do so sooner rather than later, I can’t tell you how important it is for giving other (less motivated) backers the confidence to support the project.

With thanks.

I think paid advertisements on FB can be efficient because they appear on Instagram, too. They can help to grab much more people's attention.

Maybe creating a short video about the project will be a superb idea. It should contain some attention-grabbing details, some nostalgia factor and the link. I have been working with musicians, so I know a little about marketing.

Despite the fact that I am not on TikTok, it could be a great platform to spread the word!

As being a journalist ( and a teacher), I can write an article about the project both in Hungarian and English and it can also help a little. We can make some paid advertisements on our magaine's platform, too.

I hope I could help a little.
