Well, one of the vents could be removed so I don't see any problem with that... As for the rock formations, yes, this is an important thing. I'd say that it'd be great to visit this place and to explore it. There is a chance to find there the same photo angle as in TGFT. As for me, the number of photos of this place on Google Maps is not so large to compare them to TGFT frames so currently I can't say being fully confident if Potter Point is TGFT location or it is not.
I realise that rocks can change a lot through erosion if they are by the sea, but not so much that the large sandstone formation (which would have taken MILLIONS of years to form!) would have completely vanished 3 decades later.
Yes, indeed! However, that rock could be quite unstable already in the 90's so erosion within a few years could, in theory, destroy it.
